The Collecting Of Power

My Submission to the Center Of Power contest

Piece Information

I really went to my limits on this one and as a result i think i have improved so much, i challenged myself to create something far better than anything i have done before, as well as really add more to my scenes. With inspiration from fellow Space Artist i changed my whole approach to space art, by adding better detail and thinking more outside the box with my tools and imagination.

The Scene

The scene shows a feeding black hole, sucking in the gas around it and shooting offer high and powerful energy beams from its singularity. An advanced race of aliens with a hunger of power, create black holes in gas clouds to create a far better energy source for their cities and ships. By storing and then collecting the energy thrown out from a feeding black hole they are able to store up energy enough to last a generation at most.

Although global warming is not a concern for this race, by the looks of things they are creating larger and larger black holes each time, they place some planets are on the event horizon of the black hole for a faster delivery of power. Although a “clean” energy source, i would not like to be on those planets if something was to go wrong.
